Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca)

This is one of the easiest milkweeds to plant; it thrives in almost any well-drained soil. The plant grows tall and proud with large oval leaves and ball-shaped clusters of flowers. The lavender-pink blooms put on a show over an long period from mid to late summer.
